A Very Basic Cable Release
April 3rd, 2008 Posted in HackI was messing around with my Holga camera last night and I thought to myself, “Whats the easiest and cheapest way to make a cable release system for my Holga?”
This is what I came up with:

Yeah you have probably already guessed what I’m going to do right?

Position the cable so that when fully extended it holds the shutter button down completely.

And finally tape it securely in place. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well this holds.
At some stage in the near future I will be making a proper permanent hack, but I thought this was pretty cool while you wait for that!

Thanks. Did you screw on the shutter thingy?

I didn’t no. this is just using tape. I will be making a more permanent hack at some stage in the near future, that involves srewing the release in. this was just something that I thought would work and it did

I gotta try this one of these days, buying just a cable release is a lot cheaper than buying the ones made for Holga
