Adding a Lens Hood To Your Holga

I found a great tutorial that explains how you can add a Lens hood to your holga, to help reduce flaring.

Lens flaring occurs when you take a picture directly into the source of light, whether that be a studio light, a domestic light, or the sun.

Here is an example of what lens flaring looks like:

Some people enjoy the effect but others don’t. I suggest doing it only if you do not like it. The hood will REDUCE flaring considerably.

You will only need a printer, scissors and some tape. Its a simple and cheap mod.

1.Head over to the Holga lens hood page to download  a pre-drawn template of your choice.
2. Cut it out using your scissors or your exacto-knife.
3. Attach it to your Holga using your tape!

Hello, my name is Tom Durkin and I write the content here at Go Holga. I've had a Holga camera since 2005 and I fell in love with big piece of plastic straight away. Recently I realised how easy it was to make my own modifications and decided to show you how to do them via this website. I hope you find it useful.

I like the light flare. I will try to shoot into the sun to see if I can achieve the same effects.
