Gotta love waiting to get your prints back

I realised an amazing thing this week…waiting to get your prints back from the lab is so damn exciting! I love it.

What makes it even better is when you have completely forgotten what it was that you were shooting. This happened to me with my last film so I’m eagerly awaiting the results. I literally can’t remember what I did on this film at all. My Holga was sitting on my shelf for weeks with only a few frames left to burn, so I finished it off and handed it in. (I’ll make sure I post the results when they come back!).

But yeah, in an ever digitalising world where ‘instant’ seems to be what everyone shamelessly yearns after, its nice to feel anticipation.

One of the many perks of analogue photography I feel!

Do you agree?

Back from London and had an absolute blast in the sun. Just a few more frames to burn and then I’ll be able to get it developed at my local lab.

If you’ve not been around here before I’d like you to know about the Go Holga forum. Its becoming a hive of Holga and lo-fi related activity lately and all the users on there are keen to get more people involved.

London Here I Come

Its great to finally get the Holga off the shelf again! First time this year for me, and what better place to burn some film than the capital city, London.

I’ll packed a roll of Ilford HP5 but won’t be looking for all the clique shots of Big Ben etc, I’ve already done those.

I’m hoping this time to try and capture another side of London away from all the tourist stuff, so it will be interesting to see what comes of this little adventure.

Pictures to follow asap.

Photos from my trip to Samos, Greece.

Well its been 2 months since I last made a post but I’m starting to feel the passion for photography again after a few gloomy months of UK winter.

Completely forgot about the photos I had taken on my trip to Samos, Greece last summer so here we are…I’ve included some background on some for your reading pleasure.

BTW Samos is a beautiful, quiet Greek island with lots of great villages and scenery. Definitely worth a week if you like exploring and absorbing different cultures.

The camera used was a Helena 150.

This was a long river like something off Indiana Jones. We had to dodge a few snakes and strange looking spiders along the way.

Quick Holga Inspiration Using Google

Go Holga Forum member Steve U tipped me of to this excellent source of Holga inspiration, which I have to shamefully admit I’ve never even thought of doing!

Check out this search for “Holga Portrait” on Google.

I used quotes to make the search more exact and its brought back some inspirational results.

Play around with whatever ideas you may have for photography subjects and check out the awesome results! Really simple but really nice.

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas all…updates hopefully coming soon

Firstly Merry Christmas everyone! I really hope you have a great time over the festive period and get loads of cool Lomo and Holga related gifts from your friends, family and loved ones.

Secondly, I’m so sorry to have let this place die so badly. I really hope I can find the time to work on some brand new content and a new theme in the new year.

Its been a really busy time for me over the last 6 months with some big changes in my life so I hope you can all understand and continue to support the blog.

Hopefully in the new year I can start building the hacks and mods sections up again and start regularly updating the blog with inspiring Holga tips.

Hope to see you all around here soon
